What is Transhumanism?
Transhumanism is a movement that focuses on the application of technological processes to improve the human condition, both physically and intellectually, and possibly to exceed fundamental human limitations.
Transhuman is a transitory state from human to posthuman.
Transhumanism is the use of technology to change any biological aspect of our physical makeup.
Group Introduction
We are a group of Singapore Management University Year One students, with our project titled: Transhumanism, for our course: Technology and World Change during 2013. Focussing on Transhumanism, we examine the philosophical schools of thought, in particular, the way of thinking of adopting Transhumanism to further the interests of the Human Race.
We touched on the gradual evolution of Transhumanism from the past, paying homage to the various people who made advancements in Prosthesis possible. From there, we move on to the current situation, made possible thanks to the advancement of technology.
Lastly, we examine the future implications of transhumanism, especially the Ethical concerns, by considering the Social, Economical, Political and Environmental impacts of such technology.
